Baking

CHANGE

Baking A Change is a student-led 501(c)(3) that fights food insecurity while showing how baking can become a force for social impact. We bring together students who explore the science and culture behind recipes, create baked goods inspired by diverse traditions, and donate them to local shelters and community partners. Through fundraising, chapter development, and community partnerships, students also gain experience in entrepreneurship, nonprofit leadership, and mission-driven business. With emerging chapters in Georgia and Maryland, we are spreading warmth, compassion, and change one batch at a time.
We Do This By:
Hosting educational workshops about the science and nutrition connected to baking.
Hosting cultural nights to taste and bake desserts from different countries
Donating baked goods to shelters and organizations in areas of need.
Highlight small business owners in the baking world to learn about their journeys.

MEET
Navya
My name is Navya Jagarlamudi, I am a junior at Weddington High School in Matthews, North Carolina. My love for baking began at the age of five when I stood on a stool next to my first culinary teacher —my older sister— helping her pour ingredients and mix batter. Those early moments in the kitchen not only developed my love for baking, but also showed me that baking can bring people together.
Let’s Bake, Learn, and Give Back—Together.
